Ingram Micro will pay your mobile bill when you are jobless

Ingram Micro will provide a mobile bill
protection amount of Rs 3000 per month for
three months if the buyer gets fired.
Ingram Micro has introduced value added
packs called Cover Plus which customers
can opt for while buying a new smartphone
or tablet PC. The value added packs offer
insurance, content from Hungama and a
security suite from Trend Micro.
“We have ensured that consumers get the
maximum from these value added packs.
The entire amount of pack is returned to the
consumer in form of downloads from
Hungama and Trend Micro security suite.
The insurance comes for free,” said Anil
Kaushik, director- services, Ingram Micro
India. The value added packs are valid for an
year for one device.
The insurance package is backed by Oriental
Insurance and covers contingencies caused
by accident, liquid, theft, burglary, fire and
tempest. Apart from covering partial and
total losses like these, Ingram Micro is also
offering jobless cover and SIM misuse.
“We are the first company to cover jobless
situations. When a person gets fired and if
he/she submits the necessary documents,
then we will provide a mobile bill protection
amount of Rs 3000 per month for three
months for post paid mobile bills” said Shiv
Kumar Singh, national service manager,
Ingram Micro India.
The company will consider jobless cases
only if the customer is fired and can provide
sufficient documentation for the same.
Resignations or asked-to-leave cases are not
entitled to receive this benefit. The jobless
claim will be verified by Ingram Micro and is
only applicable for employees of registered
companies.
Ingram Micro has also covered SIM misuse
for stolen devices. “If a device is lost and the
same has been reported then we will cover
up to Rs 1000 if the SIM has been misused
before it is blocked by the service provider,”
said Singh.
To benefit from the insurance, customers will
have to register on this portal within 15 days
of purchase with the invoice copy.
In case of damages, the customer can
reimburse the servicing bill multiple times
during the insurance period. If a device is
lost or stolen, the depreciation amount will
be 10 per cent (of the cost) for the first six
months and 25 per cent for six to 12
months. “If someone loses a smartphone
worth Rs 10000 within the first six months
then we will give back Rs 9,000 to him,”
added Singh.
The Cover Plus packs are launched in two
product categories – Gold and Platinum
Pack covering 15 plus variants and starts at
Rs 499.
